A warm balsamic note with a soft leathery character and a hyacinth floral facet. Distilled from the balsam, it adds a sweet styrax depth to amber, leather and floral accords.

Pyrogenic (dry-distilled) Styrax oil must be rectified under Good Manufacturing Practice; the PAH benzo[a]pyrene and 1,2-benzanthracene must not exceed 1 ppb in total in the finished product, counted together with rectified Cade oil, rectified Birch tar oil and Opoponax. Crude Styrax gum (storax) is prohibited. |
